The 2004 General Assembly was held in the Latvian capital, Riga. The event was organised by Latvian members Peteris Martinsons and Ilona Romule and the tour agency ITA Consultants.

The theme for the event was contimuing Education and Lifelong Learning and the programme featured presentations from teachers and artists form the three Baltic States o Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.

The Academy members exhibition was held in the Applied Arts Museum and a supplementary exhibition of Latvian Ceramics was held in the Design Museum.

Social events and exhibition openings were organised at museums, churches and trips to the beach to swim in the Baltic at Salsgrida.

Post-conference tours visited ceramic exhibitions, artists and symposium venues in Lithuania and Estonia.
