EXHIBTIONS
In addition to the member's exhibitions at the General Assemblies other exhibitions
of members work are also organised.

The International Academy of Ceramics was founded in 1952. Under the direction of Mme Marie-Therese Coullery, art historian, curator at the Ariana Museum in Geneva and instructor at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Geneva, the academy grew quickly over the years.

The IAC is still based in the Musee Ariana, Geneva, Switzerland. The Ariana Museum contains the prestigious collections of ceramics and glass of the City of Geneva. It is the only museum in Switzerland, and among the most important in Europe, devoted entirely to kilncraft.

With over 20,000 objects, the collections illustrate seven centuries of ceramics and glass. All the main techniques are represented.
The Museum also displays modern and contemporary ceramic and glass art. Built by Gustave Revilliod (1817-1890), the Ariana Museum, with its neoclassical and neo-baroque features, immediately stands out from the local architectural style.

The collections represent seven centuries of work, ranging from the Middle Ages to modern times in Europe, the Near East and Asia. The building itself, in Neo-Renaissance style, is a true jewel in the centre of a vast park.
