As a contemporary ceramic artist, educator and academic, I focus on key concepts of the world we live in.
Ideas in my sculptural ceramics are expressed with materials that suit the subject such as ready-made objects, shards of ceramics, metal or textiles. In my work, fragments are combined to create a whole, vitality is expressed through contrasts and flaws are accepted as in wabi sabi.
Throughout my career, I have actively promoted plastic arts either as a Board member or founding member of arts institutions, as well as in executive positions in various universities.
I have organized national and international competitions, workshops, exhibitions and conferences and have been invited as a lecturer and to judge competitions at home and abroad. My presentation topics include art, education, creativity and innovation.
