Peter Beard takes his inspiration from all forms of landscape, along with ancient artifacts and the art of ancient Egypt. He produces pieces which are strong, modern and timeless in their quality.

His unique pieces are thrown and hand-built, mainly in stoneware, decorated with matt and semi-matt glazes built up in layers to create textural surfaces during firing.  Wax is used to isolate areas during glaze application.

He also produces heavily textured, monochrome pieces using sand blasting as a technique.  Pieces are also produced in bronze and stone.

Peter is a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association of Great Britain.  Exhibits regularly internationally and his work is represented in museums and collections worldwide and he is the winner of various ceramic awards.  Examples of his work appear in numerous reference books.
