In 2001 she obtains the Honour Award of the 90th National Visual Arts Salon of Argentina, in the field of Ceramics.  In 2008 she is selected to represent Argentina in FuLe International Ceramic Art Museums (FLICAM) in Fuping, China.

Statement

My artistic practice is built from a poetics anchored in a cultural mixed race identity shaped by a Pre-Columbian, Hispanic-American and European immigratory past. Exceeding the anachronistic dichotomy between art and craft, I work ceramics breaking the barriers that oppose fine arts to popular arts. I give account of this complex identity in my work by gathering in it multiple cultural contributions, opening my work to the most diverse significations, to the complexities of the present time, to the mixing of different cultures by inserting and combining western topics with referents in our territory so as to articulate the most disrespectful combinations between historical events, memories of our childhood, games, power, childhood-fantasy, popular kitsch and the bestiaries, all of which are infected with a touch of humour, irony and nostalgia.  This pluralist art tries to be an open space that allows for a critical look and does not turn into a place where knowledge is made up of certainties. Quite the opposite, I prefer dialogue and questioning in interpretative positions. The interdisciplinary art is also combined in aesthetic operations which lead to reconsidering disciplinary autonomies.  Art -be it ceramic, graphic, sculptural, pictorial, photographic or mixed- is the foundation of my work, in which the object is hoisted as the icon of my project. By assembling, fragmenting, multiplying, serializing, unifying, fusing, printing and modelling I work on both raw and fired material. Raw material becomes part of my ceramic work, completes it and articulates it in the foundational axis of my aesthetics: the mixed medium.

Presentación

Mi práctica artística se construye desde una poética anclada en una identidad cultural mestiza, conformada por un pasado precolombino, hispanoamericano e inmigratorio europeo. Superando la anacrónica dicotomía entre arte y artesanía, trabajo lo cerámico quebrando las barreras entre arte culto y arte popular. Mi obra da cuenta de esta identidad compleja reuniendo en ella múltiples aportes culturales, abriendo mi trabajo a las más diversas significaciones, a las complejidades del presente, a los cruces entre las diferentes culturas , insertando y combinando tópicos de la cultura occidental con referentes de nuestros territorios, para articular las combinatorias más irrespetuosas entre los eventos de la historia, los recuerdos de la infancia, los juegos , el poder, el fantástico-infantil , el kitch popular y  los bestiarios, todo ello contaminado con un toque de humor, ironía y nostalgia. Este arte de lo plural intenta ser un espacio abierto que a la vez articule una mirada crítica y no se convierta en el lugar de un saber hecho de certezas, por el contrario prefiero el diálogo y el cuestionamiento en posiciones interpretativas. Lo transdisciplinar también se combina en operaciones estéticas que conllevan un replanteo de las autonomías disciplinares. Lo cerámico, lo gráfico, lo escultórico, lo pictórico, lo fotográfico, lo mixto supone una postura fundante de mi obra en la que el objeto se alza como el icono de mi proyecto. Ensamblar, fragmentar, multiplicar, serializar, unificar, fusionar, imprimir, modelar, son mis modos de operar sobre la materia cruda y cocida. Lo crudo se integra a  mi trabajo cerámico, lo completa y lo articula en el eje fundacional de mi estética, el medio mixto.
