My passion to explore the shape-space relationship takes me to recover forms and images from contemporary cities and the natural environment – I focus on their plastic qualities, symbolic content and essence to achieve abstraction.

My architectural background is always present in my projects and in the way I interact with ceramics. My work consists of sculptures, wall hanging works and installations.

I hold Degrees in Architecture and Urbanism, and worked as an architect, art director and professor for several years. I studied ceramics at the School of Design and Crafts of the National Institute of fine Arts. And since 1994 I work in my studio in Mexico City.

I have presented 15 solo exhibitions and over 40 group exhibitions both in Mexico and abroad.
I’ve also been invited artist in encounters, symposia and artistic residences in Mexico, USA, Europe, Korea and China.

In 2007 I was elected member of the International Academy of Ceramics.
