In1964 they moved to western Massachusetts where they converted a vacant barn into a working pottery and where they produced hand made, one of a kind, utilitarian pottery as their sole source of income.
In 1966 Robert was offered a position teaching Ceramics at Tyler. In 2005, after thirty-nine years, he retired from teaching. He and Paula continue to maintain their studio and gallery in Horsham, Pennsylvania where they continue their extensive ceramic art careers.
Asked about his current work Robert said, “Having been a potter for a long time I can’t help but think of the house as a unique kind of container, one that is imbued with a deep set of profound and multilayered psychic associations. To a child the house represents family, love, security and identity.” |
