Studied ceramics at the Tyler School of Art of Temple University under Rudolf Staffel. Taught ceramics at Arcadia University (formally Beaver College) from l973-2003 (Professor Emeritus) A few awards include: Visual Arts Fellowships in l976 & l988 from the National Endowment for the Arts, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Visual Arts Fellowship 1986 & 2005. Work is included in major public & private ceramic collections in USA and abroad: World Ceramics Collection, Kyonggi Province, Korea; Jingdezhen Ceramic Art Institute, China; International Ceramic Museum, Kecskemet, Hungary, Montreal Museum of Art, Canada, LA County Museum, Los Angeles, CA, Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian Museum, Washington D.C. etc.

Extensive exhibitions span the years from the l960’s until today and includes such shows as “ Ceramics in the 21st century” ( 2003) Poetics of Clay: Houston Center for Contemporary Crafts, Philadelphia Art Alliance & the Museum of Art & Design, Helsinki, Finland. (2001-2003), U.S.A. Clay: A Decade of Craft: Recent Acquisitions, American Craft Museum, N.Y.( 1992) recent solo shows: Museum of Contemporary Art, Honolulu, Hawaii, 2004; Design Museum, Helsinki Finland, 2005, Arcadia University Art Gallery November 2006.
