The aim of the International Academy of Ceramics is to promote friendship and communication between ceramics professionals in all countries. The IAC develops and encourages all forms of international cooperation to promote ceramics and to encourage and maintain production of the highest quality in all ceramic cultures.<\/p>\n

Since its founding in 1952 by Henry J. Reynaud, IAC President until his death in 1964, the organisation of the IAC has changed and evolved. Originally it had a strong diplomatic background, bringing together representatives of national museums and cultural organisations. Ceramists were invited as consultants.<\/p>\n

Today, the Academy is the only association dedicated to the medium of clay that operates at an international level. The IAC brings together ceramists, potters, artists, designers, writers, collectors, gallerists, conservators, restorers, curators and a number of prestigious institutions.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Thanks to their respective areas of expertise, IAC members are regularly invited to participate in congresses and residencies, to submit articles for publication, and to serve as jurors for international exhibitions and competitions.<\/p>\n

The IAC has been affiliated with UNESCO since 1958, first on a consultative basis and then, since 2001, as an official partner in the cultural sector. The IAC takes this partnership seriously and wishes to contribute to meeting the challenges of this important organisation, which recognises the scientific, educational and cultural concerns of its member countries.<\/p>\n

More than 60 years after its creation, the IAC remains more committed than ever to being at the centre of an international community representing ceramics at the highest level. Every two years, the IAC organises an international congress, which includes a conference on a specific theme, national and international exhibitions, and ongoing support for private initiatives by galleries and other cultural institutions. Thanks to the quality and representativeness of its members, the IAC Congress stimulates cultural activities in the host country and fosters new relationships between institutions, thus contributing in a tangible way to the development of the necessary synergies for the promotion of ceramic art.<\/p>\n

Since 2009, between the biennial congresses, the IAC has organised a series of conferences called “IAC Day”, hosted by the Ariana Museum in Geneva, Switzerland. With the aim of demonstrating the close relationship between the Ariana Museum and the Academy, the IAC Day offers a series of lectures, discussions and debates on ceramics, bringing together international experts and an enthusiastic audience.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

L'Acad\u00e9mie internationale de la c\u00e9ramique a pour objectif de promouvoir l'entente et la communication entre les professionnels de la c\u00e9ramique du monde entier. El objetivo de la Academia Internacional de Cer\u00e1mica es promover la amistad y la comunicaci\u00f3n entre los profesionales de la cer\u00e1mica de todos los pa\u00edses. La AIC desarrolla y fomenta todas las formas de cooperaci\u00f3n internacional para promover la cer\u00e1mica y fomentar y mantener la producci\u00f3n de la m\u00e1s alta calidad en todas las culturas cer\u00e1micas.<\/p>\r\n

Desde su fundaci\u00f3n en 1952 por Henry J. Reynaud, presidente de la AIC hasta su muerte en 1964, la organizaci\u00f3n de la AIC ha cambiado y evolucionado. Originalmente, ten\u00eda una s\u00f3lida formaci\u00f3n diplom\u00e1tica, ya que reun\u00eda a representantes de museos nacionales y organizaciones culturales. Se invitaba a ceramistas como consultores.<\/p>\r\n

Hoy en d\u00eda, la Academia es la \u00fanica asociaci\u00f3n dedicada al medio de la arcilla que opera a nivel internacional. La AIC re\u00fane a ceramistas, alfareros, artistas, dise\u00f1adores, escritores, coleccionistas, galeristas, conservadores, restauradores, comisarios y varias instituciones de prestigio.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n

Gracias a sus respectivas \u00e1reas de especializaci\u00f3n, los miembros de la AIC son invitados regularmente a participar en congresos y residencias, a presentar art\u00edculos para su publicaci\u00f3n y a formar parte de jurados de exposiciones y concursos internacionales.<\/p>\r\n

La AIC est\u00e1 afiliada a la UNESCO desde 1958, primero con car\u00e1cter consultivo y, desde 2001, como socio oficial en el sector cultural. La AIC se toma en serio esta asociaci\u00f3n y desea contribuir a afrontar los retos de esta importante organizaci\u00f3n, que reconoce las preocupaciones cient\u00edficas, educativas y culturales de sus pa\u00edses miembros.<\/p>\r\n

M\u00e1s de 60 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de su creaci\u00f3n, la AIC sigue m\u00e1s comprometida que nunca con su papel de centro de una comunidad internacional que representa la cer\u00e1mica al m\u00e1s alto nivel. Con la universalidad de la cultura cer\u00e1mica como valor fundamental, la AIC contin\u00faa promoviendo el di\u00e1logo entre culturas para garantizar la continua apreciaci\u00f3n de todo tipo de cer\u00e1mica.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n

Apoyamos firmemente la \u00abDeclaraci\u00f3n Universal de la UNESCO sobre la Diversidad Cultural<\/a><\/span>\u00bb y apoyamos la igualdad, la diversidad y la inclusi\u00f3n de todos nuestros miembros. Cada dos a\u00f1os, la AIC organiza un congreso internacional que incluye una conferencia sobre un tema espec\u00edfico, exposiciones nacionales e internacionales y apoyo continuo a iniciativas privadas de galer\u00edas y otras instituciones culturales. Gracias a la calidad y representatividad de sus miembros, el Congreso de la AIC estimula las actividades culturales en el pa\u00eds anfitri\u00f3n y fomenta nuevas relaciones entre instituciones, contribuyendo as\u00ed de manera tangible al desarrollo de las sinergias necesarias para la promoci\u00f3n del arte cer\u00e1mico.<\/p>\r\n

Desde 2009, entre los congresos bienales, la AIC ha organizado una serie de conferencias denominadas \u00abD\u00eda de la AIC\u00bb, celebradas en el Museo Ariana de Ginebra (Suiza). Con el objetivo de demostrar la estrecha relaci\u00f3n entre el Museo Ariana y la Academia, el D\u00eda de la AIC ofrece una serie de conferencias, charlas y debates sobre cer\u00e1mica, que re\u00fanen a expertos internacionales y a un p\u00fablico entusiasta.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n
