Le Conseil de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie Internationale de la C\u00e9ramique a le plaisir de pr\u00e9senter \u00ab\u00a0Treasure Bowl Collection\u00a0\u00bb. D\u00e9velopp\u00e9e de 2016 \u00e0 2018, cette collection est tout \u00e0 fait unique dans la c\u00e9ramique contemporaine. Les fonds tir\u00e9s de la vente de la collection ont vocation \u00e0 soutenir les activit\u00e9s internationales de l\u2019AIC.<\/h3>\r\n

Le th\u00e8me de la collection, \u00ab\u00a0Native Clay\u00a0\u00bb, s'est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 comme une \u00e9vidence. La curatrice s\u2019est confi\u00e9e sur sa vision du th\u00e8me, dans un texte \u00e0 lire plus en d\u00e9tail dans la publication qui accompagne la collection: pour elle, le sens du mot \u00ab\u00a0Native\u00a0\u00bb n\u2019est plus assimilable \u00e0 une simple cat\u00e9gorie g\u00e9ographique. Le terme inclut les sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s propres \u00e0 chaque individu, produites par l\u2019environnement, l\u2019histoire et la culture de sa terre natale ou du lieu sp\u00e9cifique o\u00f9 cette personne s\u2019est install\u00e9e.

\u00c0 travers l\u2019exercice fondamental du fa\u00e7onnage d\u2019un bol, les artistes invit\u00e9.e.s, fort.e.s de savoir-faire d\u2019exception tant traditionnels que contemporains, se sont employ\u00e9.e.s \u00e0 l\u2019expression du natif, du soi et des valeurs communes. Pour l\u2019artiste c\u00e9ramiste, le bol est une forme arch\u00e9typale. Dans ses variations multiples, c\u2019est un objet iconique symbolisant l\u2019universalit\u00e9 de la conscience et des n\u00e9cessit\u00e9s humaines. Son potentiel expressif, voix de plusieurs cultures, t\u00e9moigne de sa grande valeur artistique.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Treasure Bowl Collection est l\u2019aboutissement d\u2019une pr\u00e9cieuse collaboration entre 10 artistes internationaux et la curatrice Misun Rheem, tou.te.s membres de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie.\u00a0Misun Rheem y c\u00e9l\u00e8bre la philosophie de l'AIC, fond\u00e9e sur le partage des connaissances et la fraternit\u00e9.

Cette \u00e9dition est constitu\u00e9e de 12 sets num\u00e9rot\u00e9s de 1 \u00e0 12, compos\u00e9s chacun de 10 bols sign\u00e9s par les artistes.\u00a0Un certificat garantit l\u2019authenticit\u00e9 des\u00a0pi\u00e8ces.\u00a0La limitation \u00e0 12 sets et 10 artistes fait de cet ensemble une r\u00e9alisation unique dans le monde de la c\u00e9ramique contemporaine.

Le projet n\u2019aurait pu aboutir sans m\u00e9c\u00e9nat international. Ainsi, l\u2019AIC adresse ses remerciements les plus sinc\u00e8res aux deux m\u00e9c\u00e8nes qui ont accept\u00e9 d\u2019apporter leur soutien financier \u00e0 ce projet, avant m\u00eame que les \u0153uvres n\u2019existent. Ce t\u00e9moignage de confiance envers l\u2019AIC et ses membres fonde un moment important de l'histoire de l\u2019association.

Outre le soutien initial de ces m\u00e9c\u00e8nes, deux institutions de renomm\u00e9e internationale se sont propos\u00e9es d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir chacune un set: le Mus\u00e9e Ariana en Suisse et le Alfred Ceramic Art Museum, aux\u00a0\u00c9tats-Unis.\u00a0Quelques sets sont encore disponibles, \u00e0 l\u2019attention des personnes et institutions qui souhaitent soutenir la qualit\u00e9 et la diversit\u00e9 de l\u2019art c\u00e9ramique dans le monde. The International Academy of Ceramics Council is pleased to announce \u201cThe Treasure Bowl Collection\u201d is open for acquisition. Developed from 2016 to 2018, this collection is unique in contemporary ceramics. Funds from the purchase of this collection will go to support the work of the IAC throughout the world.

<\/h3>\r\n<\/td>\r\n

The theme of the collection, \u201cNative Clay\u201d, was a natural choice. Curator Rheem explained the theme in the following words, which are offered in more detail in her essay included in the accompanying catalogue for the collection: The meaning of \u2018Native\u2019 can no longer be limited to a geographical category. Native includes the unique characteristics of an individual formed by the environment, by history and by the culture of one\u2019s homeland or specific place where he or she resides.<\/p>\r\n

Through the fundamental act of shaping a bowl, the invited artists used their remarkable traditional and contemporary skills to express the concepts of native self and common values. For the ceramic artist, the bowl is an archetypal form. In all its variations, it is an iconic object symbolic of universal human consciousness and necessity. Its expressive potential as the voice of many cultures testifies to its great artistic value.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n

\r\n

The Treasure Bowl Collection is the result of a rare collaboration of 10 international artists and curator Misun Rheem, all IAC members.\u00a0Curator Misun Rheem celebrates the IAC philosophy based on the sharing of knowledge and friendship.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n

This edition is made of 12 numbered sets, each composed of 10 bowls signed by the respective artists. A certificate attests to the authenticity of all artworks. The limitation to 12 sets and 10 artists makes this edition a unique achievement in the world of contemporary ceramics.

The collection could not have been possible without international philanthropy. The IAC therefore extends its utmost gratitude to the two patrons who agreed to support this project financially, even before the artworks existed. Their trust in the IAC and its members makes the TBC an important step in the association's history.

In addition to the initial support of those art benefactors, the Mus\u00e9e Ariana in Switzerland and the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum in the United States have each committed to acquiring 1 set of the Treasure Bowl Collection. A few sets are still available for acquisition for those wishing to help the International Academy of Ceramics continue to support the quality and diversity of ceramic art around the globe. The acquisition price of each collection set starts at CHF 18,000.<\/p>\r\n
