La Treasure Bowl Collection 2 a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9e au moment o\u00f9 la crise du Covid s\u2019abattait sur le monde en le couvrant d\u2019un voile d\u2019inqui\u00e9tude. D\u00e8s lors, le th\u00e8me de l\u2019appropriation propos\u00e9 \u00e0 la fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2019 nous appara\u00eet en 2021 sous un jour nouveau.<\/p>\r\n<p>La collection AIC \u00ab\u00a0Treasure Bowl\u00a0\u00bb honore \u00e0 la fois les possibilit\u00e9s fonctionnelles et artistiques du bol, qui unissent la po\u00e9sie et la pratique dans la c\u00e9l\u00e9bration d\u2019un lien partag\u00e9 de l'humanit\u00e9, au-del\u00e0 des fronti\u00e8res culturelles et g\u00e9ographiques.<\/p>\r\n<span class=\"caption\">[1] Nous nous permettons d\u2019introduire ce texte avec cette expression ch\u00e8re \u00e0 Jacques Kaufmann.\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\r\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 781px;\">\r\n<p>N\u00e9 lors d'une session de r\u00e9flexion du Conseil de l'AIC en septembre 2015, le concept d\u2019une \u00e9dition sp\u00e9ciale de l'AIC, organis\u00e9e et produite par les membres de l'AIC, est devenu public avec sa premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition en 2017-8. Un grand merci \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re commissaire, Rheem Misun (Cor\u00e9e) et \u00e0 tous les artistes de la premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition, qui ont contribu\u00e9 avec enthousiasme \u00e0 \u00e9clairer le th\u00e8me \u00ab Terre native \u00bb par la diversit\u00e9 de leur style, permettant ainsi de d\u00e9marrer la s\u00e9rie. Les artistes repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s dans la premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition sont issus de cultures diverses et ont chacun fait entendre leur voix artistique \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle internationale. Ils repr\u00e9sentent leur pays autant qu\u2019ils embrassent un esprit universel de g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9 envers les autres, symbolis\u00e9 par la nature de donner et de recevoir du bol.<\/p>\r\n<p>Il en a \u00e9t\u00e9 de m\u00eame pour la seconde \u00e9dition, qui a propos\u00e9 aux artistes s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s de travailler en partant de quelques r\u00e9f\u00e9rences d'\u0153uvres d'art s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9es dans la Collection dont il est responsable en Belgique, au Mus\u00e9e de Mariemont. Pour citer Ludovic Recchia dans sa premi\u00e8re pr\u00e9sentation du th\u00e8me : \u00ab Avec l'emprunt et la citation, l'appropriation est un m\u00e9canisme courant dans l'art postmoderne. The launch of the Treasure Bowl Collection 2 coincided with the emergence of the Covid crisis, which descended on the world, covering it with a veil of anxiety. The theme of appropriation proposed at the end of 2019 appears in a new light now in 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>The IAC Treasure Bowl Collection simultaneously honours the functional and artistic possibilities of the bowl, which unite poetry and praxis in a celebration of humanity\u2019s shared bond beyond cultural and geographical borders.<\/p>\r\n<span class=\"caption\">[1] We take the liberty of introducing this text with this expression dear to Jacques Kaufmann.\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\r\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 805px;\">\r\n<p>Born out of a brainstorming session of the IAC Council in September 2015, the concept of a special IAC edition of works, curated and produced by IAC members, resulted in the public launch of its first edition in 2017-8. We extend our sincere gratitude to the first edition\u2019s curator, Misun Rheem (Korea) and to all the artists who enthusiastically contributed to enlightening the theme \u201cNative Clay\u201d through the diversity of their styles, thus beginning the series. The artists represented in the first collection come from diverse cultures and individually have made their artistic voices heard internationally. They represent their countries as well as embrace a universal spirit of generosity toward others, symbolised by the bowl\u2019s act of giving and receiving.<\/p>\r\n<p>The very same can be said for the second edition, which proposed that the selected artists begin by referencing selected pieces of art in the collection of Belgium\u2019s Mariemont Museum, of which Ludovic Recchia is head curator. To quote Ludovic Recchia in his first presentation of the theme: \u201cAlong with borrowing and quoting, appropriation is a common mechanism in post-modern art.
