I always start work by visualizing my ideas in a completely white room. When I close my eyes, a limitless space opens out before me. It seems to me that the process of ceramics production dictates the direction of the works take. It is very interesting that how the initial image inspires new creative steps which then overturn preconceived ideas. At the heart of my work are two conflicting materials: grog-like chamotte and white porcelain. I feel that they accentuate each other like the colors black and white.
