Bruce S Taylor




Bruce Taylor is a Canadian artist whose practice bridges the boundaries between drawing, sculpture and functional ceramics, uniting technical skills with a deep engagement in material inquiry. His work explores the tension between utility and abstraction, drawing upon both the traditions of craft. Taylor completed his undergraduate studies at the Alberta College of Art in Calgary, followed by a two-year residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts. He received his Master of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design.
Over the course of his career, Taylor has held teaching appointments at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, the Emily Carr College of Art, and the Rhode Island School of Design.University of Waterloo. His work has been recognized with numerous national and international awards and is represented in prominent public collections including:
