Misun Rheem
Misun Rheem is a curator who specialized on Contemporary Ceramics and Korean Crafts. Currently she is the artistic director of the Cheongju Crafts Biennale 2021.(www.okcj.org) She had been the director of crafts division at Korea Crafts and Design Foundation (KCDF/ www.kcdf.co.kr) and is now a committee member of Korea Craft Cultural Industry Promotion. Both organizations affiliated to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea. She has been an international committee member of Gyeongi International Ceramic Biennale (GICB) since 2019 and also a juror of the GICB in 2017 & 2019. She had been a curator of Korea Ceramic Foundation (KOCEF/ www.kocef.org) from 2000 to 2005 which organize the GICB, both affiliated to the Gyeonggi provincial government. She had been the 2nd director of Clayarch Gimhae Museum (www.clayarch.org) from 2009 to 2011 and the chief curator from 2006 to 2007. Her major curatorial exhibitions are the 1st and 2nd GICB International Ceramic Competition, Contemporary Ceramics and IAC Member’s exhibition. Korea Now : Korean Craft & Design exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris in 2015, the Art of Workmanship: Korean Crafts for Pyeongchang Oylmpic Game 2018 and Korea Craft Week are her recent curatorial exhibition and project.
