I feel that the process is as important as the final result to give character and meaning to the everyday objects.

Flat sponges are sewn together to make soft textured moulds for porcelain slip. A fabrication process has been developed to transform the delicate movement of the flexible sponges into porcelain.

I play with the paradox that a porous material can become a ceramic vessel.

There is a direct and visible correlation between the shape and surface of the finished piece and the yielding sponge mould. The function of the flat sponge has been altered to give way to contemporary porcelain objects.
