Mo Jirachaisakul was born and raised in a furniture factory, Thailand; but his passion lies within the process of ceramics. His body of work ranges across both functional wares to sculptural, but they are linked by the idea of alchemy. To him, the term alchemy means mixing and messing things and expect for the magical result. This idea have been stretching throughout his practice on different levels such as simply mixing random ingredients into clay body, mixing between the traditional Thai pottery technique with the modern tableware, to the most recent body of work by crossing over between handcraft and robot-craft by incorporate CNC machine normally using in furniture industry into ceramics process.
