Narges Farahani

My artwork is a way to navigate the anxieties and stress I carry within, offering an escape from the constant flood of thoughts that often overwhelm me. These inner tensions sometimes make it difficult to communicate with others, and this silence manifests itself in different ways throughout my work.
I primarily work with ceramics, often integrating video, sound, and light to expand the narrative and sensory possibilities of my pieces. Shadow and texture are central elements in my practice, explored through manipulation of light and photographic techniques.

For me, ceramics are more than objects; they are vessels that hold stories embedded in their materials. By working with soils from drying rivers, I seek to uncover hidden narratives of ecological and social transformation. I listen to the material, allowing it to guide the making process, and in doing so, I emphasize the relationship between humans, non-humans, and the environment.

Through my work, I aim to create objects that convey the unseen stories of the world around us, connecting personal experience with broader cultural and ecological narratives.
