Trained as a furniture designer in the UK, then self taught as a potter after migrating to Tasmania with son and husband John as one of the last of the ‘Ten Pound Pommies’. Established several pottery workshops, both private and institutional, built several homes, taught for many years, extended the family and have been practising for even longer. Driven by small scale industrial practices and inspired by living and working in a natural environment. Currently exploring the contrasts between the rough and the refined – the wild clays of Bruny Island with the polish of porcelain – dark and light.
