Karima Duchamp

“Karima Duchamp’s work primarily uses slabs of clay in order to create unusual ceramic surfaces. As Duchamp said, “The abstract patterns and human motifs that emerge in my work can come from a detail, stripes, dots or a grid that carry me into a universe full of stories, memories and possible projections. I try to bring viewers strong and chaotic emotions, with characters who are sometimes evanescent – a universe of suggested thoughts.” Her unique body of work has won multiple awards and has been included in numerous solo and group shows across the world while she has continued her ceramic explorations through artistic residencies in Japan, Ireland, Spain and the USA.”
