Wendy Gers




Curator of modern and Contemporary ceramics at Princessehof National Ceramics Museum, Leeuwarden, Netherlands, Dr Wendy Gers is also a Visiting Professor at Sunderland University, UK and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa.

Gers is founder of Ceramics Coach & Clean Green Ceramics.

She has curated various international exhibitions and biennales, including Cont{r}act Earth : The First Central China Ceramics Biennale, Henan, China (2016/17); Post-colonialisms?, Israel (2016/17); and the 2014 Taiwan Ceramics Biennale, Terra-Nova.

Gers is the author of ‘Scorched Earth: A Century of Southern African Potteries’ (395 p, Jacana Media), various exhibition catalogues, book chapters, and over 30 articles in scholarly journals.

Recognized as a visionary in the field, she has lectured in over 20 countries.
