LIU Xiaoyu, born in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province in 1974, received her doctor’s degree in Ancient Ceramics from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2008 where she studied in Department of Fine Arts, Cultural Heritage Preservation. Besides serving as the professor and master’s supervisor, she is also generally recognized as an inheritor of Jingdezhen’s traditional color-glazed ceramic firing and making techniques and Jizhou Kiln’s ceramic firing and making techniques, which are both Jiangxi intangible cultural heritages.
